On Monday, 27th April 2026, you can join us in person to explore how AI is shaking up energy forecasting and optimizing power systems!
Place: Mines Paris – PSL, 60 Boulevard Saint-Michel 75272 Paris — get directions here
Date and Time: 27th April 2026 from 9.30 – 17.30 CEST
Registration: Please register here for the workshop
This workshop will bring together professionals from utilities, technology providers, start-ups, research organisations, and policy makers to explore how artificial intelligence can accelerate renewable energy integration and help manage uncertainties in future power systems.
AI offers powerful new capabilities to address these challenges. Yet because power systems are mission-critical infrastructures, adopting AI-based solutions raises its own questions around robustness, transparency, integration with existing processes and human oversight.
The program will showcase advances in AI for weather modelling and forecasting, opening new possibilities for faster and more granular meteorological insight. We will explore cutting-edge approaches to RES and demand forecasting, along with real-world use cases where AI supports power system operations, including congestion management and reserve estimation.
The workshop will cover emerging foundation models and confidentiality-preserving data sharing as key enablers of improved forecasting and optimisation. Looking further ahead, the conference will examine how AI can inform asset development and long-term system planning in a context of electrification and deep decarbonisation. From scenario generation to investment optimisation, data-driven paradigms are reshaping decision-making.
