IEA Wind Task 36 “Wind Energy Forecasting” and the University of Strathclyde host a public workshop on January 21, 2020.
IEA Wind Task 36 Workshop on
Best Practice in the Use of Forecasting in the Power Industry
The workshop participants heard about probabilistic forecast interpretation from a psychological perspective, about games that make the value of probabilistic forecast more accessible, and about studies and real-life cases from grid operators and wind farm operators. There was time for an open space discussion on user centric forecasts (as e.g. laid out in the recent IEA Wind Recommended Practice on Forecast Solution Selection), and we showed a selection of other issues around the current work of the Task.
