Survey: Wind energy LCA practices
With increasing demands for standardisation and transparency in environmental assessments, Life Cycle Assessment practitioners worldwide face inconsistent approaches and limited guidance on the evaluation of wind energy environmental impacts.
The survey directly addresses this challenge by collecting current LCA practices from researchers, consultants, and industry practitioners globally. Your contributions will help the community to:
• Map the diversity of methodological approaches across professional backgrounds and practitioner communities, and establish common ground
• Identify shared challenges and priority gaps in wind-specific LCA
• Build consensus on selection criteria for characterisation methods
• Guide the development of practical, harmonised LCIA guidelines that reflect renewable energy sector needs.
Your input will directly shape practical guidelines that serve the entire wind energy LCA community.
The survey takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete and open until 31st March 2026.
